Is The Are You Gonna Bingo Advert Annoying

We're now a quarter of the way through 2018 and we think the title of "bingo ad of the year" has already been decided. Mecca Bingo's Meccarena is a strong contender, but we think the awards will be heading the way of Sun Bingo. Their "Are You Gonna Bingo" ad featuring Jayde Adams, a rapping horse and a fresh grime inspired track has helped liven up the bingo advert.

However, whilst we like the advert, we wondered how it was being perceived on social media? Do people love it? Or are they lighting torches and sharpening their pitchforks ready to march on Sun Bingo HQ. Now, we've done similar articles like this in the past and ended up in trouble so let's hope the folks on Twitter are big fans of the advert!

Unfortunately for Sun Bingo - and quite possibly ourselves - there's not a lot of love for 'Are You Gonna Bingo?" in some quarters. Kadiegray221 seems to sum up the mood for a number of posters with this tweet and gif.

And it's not only Youtube watchers who aren't happy! Let's hope Franielizabeth's TV has survived beyond this particular post.

The good news is that there are some fans of the advert. And some of them have taken to Twitter to share the love.

The Sun Bingo advert not only has a catchy tune, but it's own little catchphrase. Catchphrase's can get annoying though but we thought that this tweet from Trugster72 was the funniest of all the Tweets we looked through. We think we might do this the next time Windows PC scammers call us! In fact we think everyone should do this for every cold call!

Our favourite tweet, however, comes from the star of the advert, Jayde Adams. We wonder how many times she'll have to endure being asked "Are You Gonna Bingo" over the coming months and years.

Surprisingly there's not as much Twitter love for the advert as we'd have expected. However, we have seen in the past that bingo adverts and Twitter don't generate much interest these days. In fact you only need to search for #meccarena to see that Twitter users don't actively use that particular campaign's hashtag.

It'll be interesting to see how things develop for the "Are You Gonna Bingo" advert. We suspect that Sun Bingo will be milking it for a few more months - so it may get more irritating to other Twitter user. We'll keep an eye out for any more interesting tweets on the ad!
