All About Bingo Jackpots
When you play bingo the aim of the game is to get the full house. For many players this is like hitting the jackpot as in the majority of games the full house prize is the biggest. However, when playing online bingo you can win even bigger money with progressive jackpots and sliding jackpots. These are special jackpots that are awarded when a full house is called within a selected number of calls. For example Deal Or No Deal 75 has a progressive jackpot. If a player calls house in 43 calls or less then the progressive jackpot is won. In some progressive jackpot cases the full cash prize is won by the winning player. However there are, as in the case of DOND 75, community jackpots. These jackpots when won are shared by the winner and the fellow roomies who were playing at the time of the win.
Odds Of Winning A Bingo Jackpot
The chances of winning a progressive jackpot is related to the number of calls required. The fewer the number of calls the longer the odds. Our 90 ball bingo odds page not only shows you the odds of winning a bingo game with fixed calls but also some of the progressive jackpots that are available to play. The amount that you can win varies from game to game, site to site and network to network. The really big money tends to be on networked progressives such as DOND 75 that's available on Virtue Fusion. At time of writing it was at an impressive £23,000. The Big Banker progressive at Gala was at £37,000 whilst the All Sorts Session Bingo jackpot (also at Gala) was over £74,000. Meanwhile Jackpotjoy's Sapphire Room progressive was at £13,000.
What Happens When It's Won
When a progressive jackpot is won the amount on offer to roomies is reset. The reset is usually called the seed amount and it's value is determined by how often it falls plus number of calls. For example a jackpot that regular falls below £250 may be seeded at £50 whilst a bigger jackpot may start at £1000. It just really depends on the game. Just because a progressive bingo jackpot has been won shouldn't stop you playing. Our advice is to see progressives as a bonus and not a prize to chase. Now that we're no longer able to run our bingo trackpots it's much harder to predict when it is worth playing though.
Million Pound Bingo
if you're hoping that playing bingo will make you a millionaire - think again. Whilst there have been million pound bingo games offered in the past with a bumper cash prize no one ever won them. Well no one ever won a million quid playing them. This was because the games were sliding jackpots. A sliding jackpot is when a number of prizes are offered. The eventual prize is determined by the number of calls when house is called. Sliding jackpot games still run, especially on Moon Bingo and it's sister sites. These games tend to have two features to note: the headline jackpot and the guaranteed jackpot. The latter is the amount that will definitely be awarded regardless of calls. So for example £1000 may be awarded for calling house in 43 calls or less, but £50 may be guaranteed if calls are >60. Other prizes will fill in the gaps.
Britain's Biggest Bingo
In October 2022, Tombola (not for the first time) disrupted the online bingo world with the launch of a brand new big money game, Britain's Biggest Bingo. Playing once a month this game offers players the chance to win a minimum of £100,000 by winning the full house. Tickets can be purchased for 50p, £1, £1.50 or £2. This prize is not only guaranteed but can increase depending on the number of players signing up. The first game played in November 2022 and created a £239,168 winner. The January 2024 game will guarantee an even bigger prize. In response (or just coincidentally) Entain also launched a big money game headlined as The £100K Bingo Game (now £150K) at Foxy and Gala. Unlike the Tombola game this offers 1L and 2L prizes alongside a £100K FH. In addition there are Roll On Prizes and a pot for players finishing on 1TG. Tickets for these games cost just 10p each.
Jackpots Defined
Fixed Jackpot: The amount that can be won on winning a line or full house. The amount is set at the start of the game and doesn't change.
Progressive Jackpot: A jackpot that increases game to game. It's won when a player calls house in a certain number of calls.
Sliding Jackpot: A jackpot that can be won in a particular game provided house is called in a certain number of calls. The jackpot decreases as the number of calls increases.
Guaranteed Jackpot: The opposite end to a sliding jackpot. This is the amount a game will giveaway to the full house winner of a sliding jackpot game at the very minimum.
