Masked Singer Slingo Review
The Masked Singer is currently (Jan 2022) on it's latest run and viewers are enjoying trying to guess which singers are behind the mask. This year's singers include Snow Leopard (Gloria Hunniford), Chandelier (Heather Small), Doughnuts, Bagpipes, Rockhopper, Poodle, Panda, Snow Leopard and Traffic Cone. We don't yet know the identity of most of the celebs but we do know the identity of the official gambling site for The Masked Singer. That's PlayOJO who last year launched themed slots and a bingo game on their platform. This year they've now added a version of Slingo.
Masked Singer Slingo follows in the footsteps of a number of exclusive themed Slingo games that are brand specific. Heart Slingo, The Sun Slingo and Lucky Pants Slingo at Paddy Power are just a few examples. The design of this version of Slingo is fairly simple. As you'd expect it's branded with The Masked Singer logo, bathed mainly in dark blue - presumably to represent the stage - and features Rockhopper from the current series. They're on the left of the screen taking care of the balls whilst the 5x5 grid and paytable are in their usual central and right side positions respectively.
How To Play Masked Singer Slingo
The main aim of Masked Singer Slingo is to get lines - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. The more lines you complete the higher the prize you can win. Wagering on this version of Slingo starts at 20p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £100. In addition to being able to set the wager you can also use the in-game options to number of extra spins, maximum extra spin price, total single game stake and total single game loss. These are useful tools to help you keep within your wagering boundaries. Once you start the game the spins are automatic so you don't need to keep hitting the spin button. Each spin generates up to 5 numbers below the 5x5 grid. If any numbers match then these are marked off on the grid.
Scatter Prizes
Once you've accumulated at least four winning line then you start winning prizes on Masked Singer Slingo. The more lines you create the bigger the prize. During game play you may pick up wilds (Rockhopper), super wilds (Snow Leopard) and free spins but look out for the joker symbol (Road Cone) as this prevents you from marking off a number. In addition you may get a coins symbol on the reels. If this crops up then you've won an instant cash prize. Scatter prizes can also be won if you get 3, 4 or 5 wilds on a single spin. At the start of the game you have 11 spins but like other versions of Slingo you may be invited to spin on after the base game concludes and any free spins used. You can then decide to wager the amount shown on screen for an additional spin, collect your prize or end the game. You can wager-on for unlimited turns which is different to more recent versions.
Win Up To x1000 Your Wager
The prizes you can win from creating lines are all cash prizes and prizes start at four slingos which is quite high. The lowest prize you can win is x1 the wager and this increases to x1000 for a full house. In comparison to recent additions to the Slingo stable these isn't the most generous of paytables. The top prize is a little bit more generous but collecting prizes for six lines is a tough task with just 11 turns. The fact that players can play on with infinite extra turns (and wagering in the process) suggests that the basis of the game is to play on to maybe get a win. The additional scatter and coin prizes are a nice bonus but they're not going to show up on every turn.
The Verdict On Masked Singer Slingo Review
Masked Singer Slingo is in fact the exact same game as Slingo Bells. The format is identical, the prizes are identical and the bonuses are identical. The only difference is that one features Santa whilst the other features Masked Singer characters. We concluded that Slingo Bells "lacks something unique to make it really stand out" and the same has to apply here. Just branding a basic game doesn't make the game better. Time and time again we see this with developers and operators and time and time again we're left frustrated. Masked Singer fans may enjoy this version of Slingo - as well as the branded slots and bingo game - but for everyone else we think that it may come across as just a bit flat. Slingo are about to launch a new game called Fire & Ice which features two 5x5 grids - we think this sounds a lot more exciting.
